David Ford is an award-winning composer of film, concert and experimental music based in Glasgow, Scotland.

With a passion for expressing life and stories through music, David has worked on numerous genres of film and concert works. Winning the prestigious Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) Film Composers’ Lab 2023-24, his music has been performed live across Scotland by groups such as RSNO, Hebrides Ensemble, United Strings of Europe, as well as music festivals and commissioners such as Screen Scotland, The Night With… and Cantilena Festival on Islay.

David holds a Master’s degree in Music Composition from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and studied under the guidance of Bekah Simms and Stuart MacRae. He has also received film scoring mentorship with Patrick Doyle (Harry Potter IV, Brave, Thor) and Danai Kokogia, along with masterclasses and tuition with James MacMillan and Drew Hammond.
